November reflections

Clouds in the field
and up in the sky
caught my eye there
as I wandered by
Some in the green
and others in blue
reflecting each other
the fall to eschew

In a painting

This evening we were in a painting
with colours and contrast and hue
beneath a cloudscape of wonder
providing a wonderful view
It was just like a Constable landscape
above and around us out here
exquisite the joy that it brought us
for a message abundantly clear

Wispy skies (3 of 3)

Very high up in the blue
frilly like a feather
wispy clouds with tendrils
float by in summer weather

They seem so delicate down here
and really don’t last long
as just a moment later
I looked up and they were gone

Cloud to sea

Ethereal with whimsy
it hung up in the sky
as we arrived at sunset
and really caught our eye
Across the English Channel
the white caps smaller now
as with the calm of evening
the wind had dropped somehow
Almost a mirror image
from sky to blustered sea
it caught imagination
as we wandered there, us three

Transitory

As clouds cannot one moment hold their form,
So life moves on through weariness and mirth,
And death is more significant than birth.

Castaway caresses, caskets carried
Lights lower, longings longer
Open opus, occluded oasis

Clouds

cocoons cast, crusted corn
chillled charm, coils coyed
croon carols, colored coats
carry cymbals, ceaseless choir
clouds colored, clouds classic

Clouds

The four corners of  the sky
are suffocated with clouds

Cloudforms

In the clouds I see things
that only I see
shapes that form pictures
I want them to be

Whistler

Grasses bob, the trees press, expand; press, expand as lungs.
Loyal speaker, who spake the first murmurings – whistler at the window.
What’s that? Faces stack, knotholes of wisps in the darkness,
agape and wakeful just as I, truculent foreheads, lined lips, I’ve a wife
who died, is she there? Another unholy moaner outside, watchful.

Fluff

Oh! Now I see an elephant

moving his trunk gallantly around;

Walking in his own stride

Flowers are waiting

Tale of a Bird

Up I fly
above the clouds,
but the clouds fly
above me too…

Off I go,
yet I don’t,
that’s the beauty
of an edge-less home!

Chasing the sun

Hands reach
One alive,

threads & thoughts

flying like kites
touching our noses
softly against clouds
heart and mind
worn on a single

the falls

i often envy cherry blossoms and clouds
because when i slip, my fall hits hard
i scrape my hands, bruise my knees –
yet when i stand under cherry blossom trees
as a breeze kicks up its heels, all i feel

Smokestack Hypnosis

Frothy foam floating atop steaming chemical vats
Boils, becoming warm white clouds
Climbing up cold concrete columns,
And billowing forth from icy smoke stacks.

Rain Clouds

Yearlong drought, harsh dry air.

Grass turned golden brown, flowers shrunk.

Water rationing!

Throat burning, nostrils bleeding.

Humidifier needed.

Let the grass be golden brown,

On the Wings of a Cloud

Carry me away on the wings of a cloud

The silence surrounding, ever so loud

The Window of the Night

Make a wish upon a star
See the moon glow bright

Up Above

Cosmic moods of fiery night
Swirl in whispered breaths
Envelop me in sweet caress
In your ever infinite depths

Encouraging the sun

 

Fragile and fleeting
a delicate sun
Kissed a few flowers
and then it was done

Hiding behind
a dark wall of grey
It bid me farewell
and was gone for the day

Fire of the Gods

I could not see your sparkle
Heard only your battle cry
