Most people is Houston don’t know how to drive in the snow.
The Mayor is telling people to stay home. Not an option for many, but driving cautiously is an option for everybody. Not an option for fools.
Houston, we have a problem…it snowed
Made worse by nuts out on the road.
And there’s no reason why!
They can’t drive when it’s dry,…
It must be part of the “idiot code!”

The nicest thing when driving home
when the traffic is quite slow
is the view we have of beach and sea
(It’s comforting, you know)

Driving Home
The road is bejewelled with the lights of traffic
Red ribbon, white ribbon, snaking over the hills
Dark fields lie beside us as we wend our way
The villages we bypass shine stray lights to our eyes

For them all,
Black seed
Finding fertile ground
In my soul,
Watered
By my rage

Here we sit
Wrapped in gauze and cotton
Silent as the grave
Waiting for the evil overhead
To restore our vision

Raging inside
Quiet and tight
Outward,
Sliding along
Cool crystal,
My mind wanders
Taking refuge
In fantasy

Get the music so loud,
A spike driven through the ears
And bones,
Into the
Cerebral cortex,
The pain drives the daemons out

I sit and stare at the TV’s glare,
wondering what to do.
Lost in thought, head up in space,
approach the sound of the boys that race.
A sudden change, there’s a vicious crunch,
I wonder what, but I have a hunch.

Sliding weightless
Down my virtual tunnel
Autopilot cruise
Consciousness adrift
As the body
Steers itself
