Kissaten Scenery

by Nick Anthony

Steady rain blankets the plaza
And shrouds late afternoon with early night.
A torrential downpour of fine droplets
That deceptively make no sound
Above the wind of the winter typhoon.
Only the plod of boots is heard
As they splash through frigid puddles.

The eyes of gods’ down trodden faces
Hover over their soaked leather soles,

So there’s a simple message there
and lawmakers really ought
to consider very seriously
turning two days into more
As adding just a couple
would be well worth waiting for

Cuckoo Chick Little

by newrana

cuckoo-sachith-ranaweera

A cuckoo chick little, cute very little

awoke from a dream, but not very peaceful.

He shivered in fear recalling the warning

by mother crow kind about his shrill cuckooing.

She promised him that the training of his voice

Rat for Crow

by OrangeDilip

rat-for-crow

This crow is peckish
dark blackish, his beak
is red hot sun
Sometimes orange
warm as sun;
He ain’t eaten a week
He is weak
He is peckish
Lord human offer him
Some spiders, like black
snake egg walking
with eight thin fingers
capped by a small lizard egg
with two spicy curved fingers;

I Cried A River Over You

by irinadim

p1120360-pansies-signed

I cried a river over you
For years and years and years
Until all the tears had dried up

The river bed is parched ground now
Dying a slow death
Yet yearning for life
Yearning for tears
But my tears won’t come

No Coincidence

by Miriam Hurdle

nc-diving1

We went to North Carolina right after Hurricane Katrina.

Hurricane Rita was lingering, but seemed to be leaving.

The hotel we booked was flooded and closed.

“Go inland seven miles to find another room to book.”

We drove by fallen trees, flooded streets and all the windows that broke.
