I’ve been looking through my pictures
as I do from time to time
at photos I have taken
in the sunshine when it’s fine
others taken in the rain
or when walking by the sea
or up there on the Sussex hills
all precious here to me

Moody skies above the Thames
on early winter morn
I’d shiver in the brittle chill
save for the coat I’ve worn
But Tower Bridge beneath the blue
with massive skies right there
Is such to take my breath away
That I just had to share

Sheltered Rhymes

Heard the words from your mouth,

That all things either end or head south;

After forgetting about the moment hear and now

Neglecting the good, golden rays falling upon the brow

End of Summer – Cinquain

Today 1st March is the first day of Autumn in Australia.

Murraya or Orange Blossom is now in bloom in my garden.

Haiku (Alliteration)
Weeping Willow weeps

Kissaten Scenery

Steady rain blankets the plaza
And shrouds late afternoon with early night.
A torrential downpour of fine droplets
That deceptively make no sound
Above the wind of the winter typhoon.
Only the plod of boots is heard
As they splash through frigid puddles.

The eyes of gods’ down trodden faces
Hover over their soaked leather soles,

Final Goodbye

A simple “Dear John” letter would not do
No, not this time
His skewered heart, a satisfying goodbye

Weekends

I’ve come to the conclusion
that weekends are too short
So there’s a simple message there
and lawmakers really ought
to consider very seriously
turning two days into more
As adding just a couple
would be well worth waiting for

I’ll take a walk
with book and pen
and use my eyes
to look around
when walking in

The Rose

The golden ‘South Africa’ rose

Rat for Crow

This crow is peckish
dark blackish, his beak
is red hot sun
Sometimes orange
warm as sun;
He ain’t eaten a week
He is weak
He is peckish
Lord human offer him
Some spiders, like black
snake egg walking
with eight thin fingers
capped by a small lizard egg
with two spicy curved fingers;

I cried a river over you
For years and years and years
Until all the tears had dried up

The river bed is parched ground now
Dying a slow death
Yet yearning for life
Yearning for tears
But my tears won’t come

Blooms today,

Withers tomorrow.

Gorgeous color,

Lives just one day.

Holding in my hands,
