Tri-haiku X (tears)

by Jem Croucher

To open your eyes
as bright sparkles sting and fall
It’s ok to cry

Embrace my sorrow
But then tomorrow bring smiles
that I may see joy

As sometimes a tear
will fall from my eyes with joy
as something moves me

Of Writers and Readers III

by Jem Croucher

Part 3 of 3

Cathartic the writing
Long have I written
For with poetic voice
I am truly smitten
I write with a passion
as I want you to see
The zest of the life
I have around me

Of Writers and Readers II

by Jem Croucher

Part 2 of 3

Cathartic the writing
It’s something I do
for I love to find words
to share here with you
To metre and form
and syntax and rhyme
I’ll find ways to bring
them time after time

THE SHANGRI LA OF US

by thereluctantpoet

THE SHANGRI LA OF US - 2
By Charles Robert Lindholm

Life Is So Fast Paced
Anymore
And Time Seems So
Fleeting

With Us
Rushing Around
In Our Own
Little Whirlwinds

The Roses
Go Unsmelled
Along With The Coffee,
Too

We Are Always
Leashed Up
To Electronics
And The Whole
Wide World
Around Us

While The Important
And The Lovely
Are Left Unattended
And Not Admired

I Want To Stop
Our World
From Spinning
Around Us
In A Vortex

HOLDING YOU IN MY ARMS - 2
I Need To
Hold You
In My Arms

HOLDING YOU IN MY ARMS
And Look
Into Your Eyes

LOOKING INTO YOUR EYES
For You Are
My Anchor,
You Are My World
And All That
Really Matters
To Me

We Need To
Protect
The Shangri La
Of Us

So We Can
Grow Old
Together
And Still Be
In Love

Gondolier

by Jem Croucher

10 of 16 in the Jemverse ‘Venetian Vistas’ series

Our gondolier sang songs
as he took us into shade
Cool waters in our gondola
combined with serenade

The ancient walls around us
and narrow waterways
Venetian history spoke to us
on this happiest of days

Half past three

by Jem Croucher

When work is over for the day
and sun’s still shining bright
A part of me looks forward to
the beach, soon in my sight
The breeze that blows in from the sea
though warm will cool me down
Contentment overwhelms me
and joy replaces frown

Word’s Worth

by S Francis

What these words are worth
To those without eyes to read
Or chips in heads binaring what pens bleed?
Take time before it melts
To look,
To see,
To listen,
To hear
All the tiny things the earth
Wants
Unveiled
Record them, Poet!

Joy Abounding

by Rev Cheryl Birch

flowers-2268386_960_720

Collapsed into my garden chair
Melancholy wrapped my heart
I cried out: Life’s unfair!
But, gray despair would not depart

More than sunshine met me there
Warmth flooded the depths of my soul
Sadness ran as did every care
Rays of Love’s Light made me whole

Yellow II (revisited)

by Jem Croucher

2 of 6 in the Jemverse ‘Yellow” series

Yellow things are mostly there
to serve as a reminder
the fact that summer’s almost here
and is going to be a blinder!

There’s yellow in those daffodils
that arrive in early Spring
and yellow in that forsythia
with all the joy it brings.

A soliloquy for Christmas

by Jem Croucher

A soliloquy for Christmas
with a little introspection
Thinking of the year that’s been
in pensive contemplation
And looking forward to the next
anticipation growing
For all the promise that’s in store
A smile, as I’ve the knowing
