She was the first
Who I felt understood
How broken we can be
Inside,
She showed me
That the rest of the world can’t understand
Because they’ve never looked at the knife
Quite the same way,
She’s the first
Who showed me there is a way out
Even if we stumble
Time and time again.

Ridden by it
Thoughts never cease
Carooming around
Inside my skull
Churning the butterflies
Alive in my gut.
Try to be logical,
To make a plan,
Taking some action,
All I have to show
Is naught,
That’s a nitro burst
For my stress.

As clouds cannot one moment hold their form,
So life moves on through weariness and mirth,
And death is more significant than birth.

come into our lives
and we hardly know
they are there.

And in the low of the eve the cotton seed spins timelessly.
The harp, the home, the houses we know
are like catalysts of change.

Changes
It used to be
I’d refer to a calendar
If I wanted to see
What day of the week it was.
Later I didn’t think twice
Because I’d see it on
An electronic device.

Daddy issues,
I spot them from
A mile away,
Choosing the method
Of connection
As they talk
And strut.

If I could follow summer
when it leaves around this time
I’d have my bags all packed and ready
and would be the first in line
For the chance to feel the warming sun
on my face throughout the year
Would be simply marvellous
and would sure to bring me cheer

Slowly surfacing,
Glimmer glimpsed
Ahead,
I’m drawn up
By the loving arms
Of my mania,
Helter skelter
Here I come

We all have to make choices in life
But we have to know what we want.

The changes to places, I don’t really mind.
But the changes to faces, oh I really do mind.
Lost are the theater, the restaurant and the park,
but not those who’ve touched my heart.
Faces change with lines and crinkles,
everyone faces the inevitable wrinkle.
But the soul of youth remains,
no matter how many things change.

The lad from next door: Yes and I shall need a bowl of water! OH! yes I shall need the kit too!
