Every night I count my blessings
and I‘m thankful for each one
’cause I know I‘ve not been promised
I‘ll see the rising sun
Every moment is so precious
every day is special too
but the memories that I treasure most
have all been made with you
You are the love I‘ve longed for
You are my dream come true
and I know each day
that I am Blessed
when I wake up next to you

The First Sunrise Of January
Always Leaves Me Wondering
What Lies Ahead
Just Out Of Sight
Over The Horizon
In My Tomorrows
And Then It Leads My
Mind Back Over The
Last Year And
Way Back When Too
Recalling
Moments And Memories
And What If’s And
Might Have Beens
Things That Never Were
But Could Have Been
And The Happiness
That Was And
The Blessings
That I Have
Regrets
And Bittersweet
Memories Escape
Their Cell
Deep In My Heart
On The First
Sunrise Of January
Before Being
Escorted Away
Sometimes The Heart
And Soul
Need To Reflect,
Remember And Wonder,
So They Will Be
More Grateful,
And Happy During
The Coming Year
The First Sunrise Of January
Is The Demarcation,
The Ending And Beginning,
One Year Passing Away Into History
As The New Year Is Born
The First Sunrise Of January
Is The “First Time”
You Get To Make An X
On The New Year’s Calendar

Sleep Eats My Hours
Like A Starving,
Desert Demon,
It Swiftly Steals
And Devours
My Most Precious
Moments In Seconds
I Awaken Each Morning
To Find Years And Years
Have Slowly
Slipped Away
In A Silent,
Unconscious
And Addictive State
Of Amnesia

Your Words
Hurt Me,
Each One
A Pointed Dart
Aimed And Thrown
At My Heart
And Soul
Burning Words,
Like Hot Wax
Spit Upon My Skin
Your Actions
Showed Me Feelings
That Confused
My Tender Heart
Your Memories
Haunt Me
With Shadows
They Still Cast
Ever Present Ghosts
Whispering From The Past
Your Heart
Deceived Me
With Your Professed
Love
Like A Bee
You Fed
On Nectar
From My Flower
Promising
I Was Your
Only Lover
I Learned
That Was A Lie
When You Left Me
For Another
With No Good-Bye
I Still Hear Those
Ever Present Ghosts
Whispering From The Past

we walked as if unaware
through youthful days
without a care
singing songs of sunshine
and daisy days
of are you mine?
hip-high in wheat-top sways
we walked through our youthful days

No melancholy there
but I wanted them to last
For collectively they’ve shaped me

Small boy on the beach
throws pebbles in the air
Can you see the circles spreading
Have they caught you unaware?
Small boy on the beach
chases waves that turn and fall
Can you hear the distant murmer
of that far off echoed call?
Small boy on the beach
walks tightrope on the groyne
Here is my mind’s eye picture
as past with present joins
