Whenever I see these cartoons on Facebook, a limerick always jumps into my head
Here’s how gender dynamics go –
Poems, poets, poetry, writing, poetry challenges
Just because someone is “family” doesn’t mean you have to tolerate lies, chaos, drama, manipulation and disrespect.
You were a good teacher.
You taught my skin to delight in your caress.
My fingers learned to search for yours.
I learned to listen for your whispers.
My sighs learned your name.
My desire learned to match your heat.
My pulse learned to quicken with your embrace.
You taught me to thirst for your touch.
I learned the loneliness of empty nights.
You taught my tears to fall in your absence.
You taught me how to say goodbye.
I learned of a broken heart.

There’s lots of ways to solve the problem. This one was very effective on me.
Your partner’s snoring has you seething.
To stop it, just do this key thing –
First, you shake them
And after you wake them….
Punch them and tell them STOP BREATHING
She’s cold
Cuddling for warmth
By herself,
I ache to be there
Wrap her in my arms
Safe and warm
(And snore-free, in my mind)
She can sleep peacefully through
The night
The need
For her controlling
Hand,
Tugging and pulling
My hair,
A needy itch
One only She can relieve,
An ache in my groin, head,
And heart.
A choice that I made
It was supposed to be until the end
The one and
Only,
Again.
Abandoned amidst predictions
Now true,
Watching as life goes on for others
But not for me.
