with shadows

Her eyes stare at mine

with an intimate contact,

There’s a storm
that resides in her eyes –
swirling, blowing –
destroying inwardly

Deep, deep in his dark, bright eyes
sits the ice and snowy death
of his past.
The deeds he’d done
the wrongs he’d spread

Eyes

A fox
    head high, lips of a cave
    etched a rock
    strokes loud, killer teeth
‘This cave, dark as coal’

aye

Sometimes, I weep, yet cannot
see the edge’s line and filigree.

Add to this – dim appeal,
obtuse affection, not fresh not real.

Creek beds flow in pouring rain
tears evolve, invoking pain.

Love, Too Distant

This home
Walls of leaves, green
Sunlight, beaming low from edges
Of coconuts huddled high

Tiger Lily

… she sits so still but seems so fluid

Peering out from those Egyptian eyes

Her green gaze prowls and warns

Smelling like an old book,

and then slaps you with citrus

Let her alone, let her be

Tiger Lily will stare holes

Into your soul

You won’t like what she’ll see
