Some walks you have to take alone…

by cmapillay

“Alone in thy mind, alone in thy name
Alone is thy fame, alone is thy shame
A step towards the grave, Alone will be the soul
Some walks will bother you…But sadly…you are alone in this game”

Of lions and gulls

by Jem Croucher

In Portsmouth the lions
outside the Guild Hall
sit patiently waiting
and watch over all

They can never of course
leave their posts as that would

Epiphany

by HemmingPlay

When the sun comes up like thunder

I knew a guy.
Cancer survivor,
worn down to the lacy bone,
thin, with dry skin.
But a light shone through
his stretched parchment skin
like some kind of
organic fire.
The brush with death
left a calling card.
“I’ll be back” it said.
“You won’t know when.”

Ocean of Everything

by Jem Croucher

3 of 3 in the Jemverse ‘Ocean’ trilogy

It’s the ocean of everything
I know and hold dear
And I’m part of its essence
That much remains clear

But explaining just why
is a difficult thing
There are words and a voice
and a mystery to bring
