Ravens

by tinethewordsmith

There is a ruckus

within my skull:

ravens are perching

on the nerves;

pecking at the walls;

etching their names.

How I wish they

would just fly out–

beaks clutching

sinewy misery–

and never return,

but they know home,

and I’m wearing it

inside my head.
