Welcome to Ice Hotel: Challenge

by Venkat

Poetry challenge: Ice hotel poem.

thanks to Harry for warming my frozen thoughts

here we are dear
back to the gone ice age
hold your thoughts
for they may shiver

freeze the present
turn the clock backwards

before cold wars
before world wars
before Homo sapiens…
before Dinos lived…
hundreds of millions…
years ago

when earth was a snowball
when God thought, to melt time

where time was hung
where space laid cold
in silent monochrome

feel the frozen beats
embedded in every nerve
of your spirit
those which were heard
those yet to come

let the tranquil face of time
slither down the spine of your history
that mankind sparked with stones
now warming the globe with fires
that God once gave a thought
to melt

welcome to the ice hotel
