Night Sky

by kim blades, writer

Tonight the sky’s darkness

is brightened by a moon bright and full

that quite overwhelms the sprinkled stars

whose continuous twinkle on the Milky Way

is tonight a softer, more wistful glimmer.

The winnowing wind embroiders

stretching wisps of darker clouds

across heaven’s siver-grey bower,

that skim the borders  of the moon’s shine

but are too deferential to it overpower.

  1. I just LOVE poems about sky, stars and clouds.

  2. I do too. Skies, clouds and the stars all have an untouchable unworldly beauty. Thank you for your interest.
