Yellow

by kim blades, writer

Yellow is a living colour

the colour of the sun at noon,

the colour of the midnight moon,

of waving wheat and ripening corn,

the glowing horizon in early morn.

Sunrise – Sunset

by kim blades, writer

It is a holy thing to see

Bleak

by kim blades, writer

Black trees loomed up out of the greyness –

a wall of angry, threatening giants.

Wet mist smeared all surfaces with cold, clinging, vapourous slime.

Light

by kim blades, writer

Above the silent bay at midnight

in the sea reflected sky,

amidst barred clouds,

like a bloom

shines the silver stillness of the moon.

with silent flies

on his moister parts –

flared black nostrils

panting pink jaws

are darkly crowded hostels,

even on his great paws.

Tonight the sky’s darkness

Garden at Night
