Under
a flat ledge,
in a garden view of lemon
groves – inscribed zest is
tickled by the scent of
interlopers wound under a single
helix of Nottingham green;

teasing, hanging, flirting with
nature – lovers stand underneath
the tree
in yellow
shades of sapidity
