Joie de vivre V

To be honest
there are many things
that bring a joie de vivre
as I get pleasure
from the simple things
I see each day ’round me

It is zest and
it is laughter
It’s both these things and more
It’s the essence
of the wonder
to find out what life is for

Cathartic the writing
Long have I written
For with poetic voice
I am truly smitten
I write with a passion
as I want you to see
The zest of the life
I have around me

Tri-Yellow

Halcyon feel of yellow
my colour every time
Happiness exuded
for my soul to shine

I’m everything

I’m dancing. I’m rhythm
I’m words on a page
I’m pen and I’m words
from a poet and sage

The Zest

Resplendent the yellow
the daisy-like smiles
Their zest keeps me going
for miles and miles
Like a tonic for life
from fair nature’s hand
on the path that’s before me
across this great land

Nest of Wonder

fires, they gleam in rings

on your fingers, molten in amber

winds, they clasp as chains
on your eyes, in hollowed homes

snowfall, dance in buried silence

your feet, dream of voices to hold

waters, they clink as fireflies do

your heart, drip thoughts in the dark

Taste of Citrus

Under
a flat ledge,
in a garden view of lemon
groves – inscribed zest is
tickled by the scent of
interlopers wound under a single
helix of Nottingham green;

Substance & Zest

It’s lovely to feel
the warmth of the sun
at the start of a day
which has barely begun

Joie de vivre

Lethargy keeps on creeping in
I think it is the time of year
As we’ve had too much of winter
and although the spring is near
The cold won’t seem to leave us
and though we do have days of sun
they’re not at present warm enough
to give a sense of fun

Recharge

 

When I get lacklustre
And my mind begins to slow
A recharging of the batteries
Renews ‘get up and go’

With this I share affinity
with my mobile and my Mac
For when they drop to ten per cent
It is energy they lack
