Poem in My Pocket

Sharing a poem for “Poem in My Pocket Day”

Untitled

Scattered sunbeams warm my toes
as I step into the cool wet grass
swept away in the rhythm of butterfly wings
beating in time with my dreams

Above me, shining like a crown
fast-moving, silver-lined clouds
framed by ever-changing azure skies
back-lit by stars shining, faithfully sleepless

Wondering how the desert looks right this minute
wondering always a moment ahead
chasing visions and following dreams
held somewhere else in time
