Why Do I Love You?

by Emily Page

I know why I need you, It’s because I love you so,
But why do I love you? Will you not let me tell you. No?
I love that I can sense you, like a lion tracking prey
I love the way I would surrender to you, each and every day.
I love that I feel protected by your presence, safe and sound
I love that you are interested in me, wholly, in the round.

I love that you can leave me and not seem to care a jot
Then when I look into your eyes, I see you care, a lot.
I love that you’re a gentle soul, who is passionate and true
I love that you bring focus and determination to everything you do.
I love that you want to share with me your journey through this life
Even if it can’t be as your only, loving wife.
