Wish for Wings

you stand with your back to me

vulnerable

silent

I, transfixed

by how your wings attach

to blades of shoulders

Where warblers wallow
Where wolves wallop
Weasels worm, winds whistle
Wishes wild, words wistful

In the Wings

William Shakespeare wrote,
“We strut and fret our hour upon the
stage…,”
but I’ve spent my hour just watching

Wings

Wings
Gave a cool breeze
Under the Sun

Wings
Gave a new home
On the clouds

Held, No More

A stone, I thought you were
So I polished, with my heart
To see your edges shine
Till the beams I held
began to ache my love

How Long, How Long

how long, how long
would we bounce on

Where once were wings

You speak of freedom

as if it were a lasting thing

 

I am free to

do what I want

when I want

how I want

 

I am free

to be me

 

Freedom

which is the butterfly
that flutters
flower to flower
admiring its own wings

To See How High They Can Fly

Sometimes words start forming in my head
And that can be a good place to start
But I’m happier with what I write
When words start flowing from my heart
