Love Redefined (Part 2)

by carareevablog
He watched me from a distance
I could tell from the shivers running down my spine
Though I pretended not to notice
My body and gaze remained stable
Even as my heart rumbled faster than the ocean's waves
I longed for him to paint my thin lips
With the truth in his tongue
Reciting his desire to know my heart's contents
The air was vibrating with a lust so thick
He didn't have to whisper in my ears
My body melted just from the heat of his calm gaze
As he moved closer to me, yet not close enough
The world seemed to be completely still
Not even the bees buzzed at the scent of the flowers
I wish I could turn my head
And let my eyes dive into the depths of his soul
But I remained fixed on the endless waters
I knew not of his existence till now
Yet i found myself drawn to him somehow
I imagined that when he spoke
His voice would be as raspy as the sand beneath my feet
But would still manage to soothe my fears at the least
My mind craved to kiss his intellect
My heart ached to nurture his flaws
I had "fallen in love" so many times
But this feeling was foreign to me
It had to be love redefined

My Valentine

by Miriam Hurdle

Poetry challenge: Valentines poem.
.
heart-1

(Ceramic piece painted by Miriam Hurdle)

It was serendipity that we met.

Summer had not stated yet, but

It was the final week of school.

I decided to go to

This group met at home.

We chatted, we snacked.

You asked what I did for fun,

I smiled, didn’t answer the question.

Magic

by Joel Kravitz

Poetry challenge: Valentines poem.

.

It is something in which I would like to believe,
Despite being the fine art of how to deceive.
The incantations say “Love Is Grand,”
But hearts can be broken by sleight of hand.

LOVE SONNET
by R. Saint Claire

Bright twinkle of stars and warmth of the sun,
Flotillas of clouds in Heaven’s fresh air,
Dark battles through which the brave hero becomes,
To all things amazed, my lover compares.

All That I Am-Valentine challenege

by 50djohnson

Poetry challenge: Valentine poem.

Valentine’s Day  2016 by Debbie

The kids , and Valentine's Day 011

All that I am or ever hope to be

Happened  one day when you really looked at me.

As you searched my eyes past all pain at such high a cost,

“So beautiful are your eyes,”you said, “A man could surely get lost!”

You certainly caught my attention and I began to see

It was at that moment, I saw your heart as it looked at me.

Valentine’s Day Poem (For J. Luna aka “Lovey”)

by Harry

Poetry challenge: Valetine poem

Submitted by Cocktailmolly

(For J. Luna aka “Lovey”)

The jubilant sun is jumping from behind a corner.
The smiling moon is resting in a glass,
With the drunken stars swirling around
Whispering “I love you” in many languages:
“Te amo! Je taime! Ti amo! Eu te amo!
Nakupenda! Mahal kita!”

In Hades refuge you will be reborn.

Roses are red

by Harry

Poetry challenge: Valentines Day poem.

Submitted by Steve

Roses are red, violets are blue
Here’s a short poem I’ve written for you
These words, they are here to bring you a smile
To make you feel special and loved for awhile

I’m sorry I didn’t buy roses today
But money’s a little bit tight as you say
So I chose a more fiscally sound endeavor
Some words on a page that will last you forever
