It’s a perfectly marvelous, glorious day.
The springtime is bright in a light-hearted way.
Softly and kindly God’s speaking to me
and I answer with praise for the wonders I see.

Internet Foodies are in a frenzy. They can only think about what are they going to make for Thanksgiving, how will they serve it, what will the table look like, and how much leftovers will there be? They are focused on the feast. Me, not so much. Don’t get me wrong, I love turkey, stuffing et all, but I can do without the fixing it. Then while amusing myself surfing the net reading the foodie fantasies, I discovered the answer to the “I can do without fixing it” dilema is in a can. WooHoo!

Come in and have a seat at the table

Ye pilgrims of life

Leave the troubles of the world and your worries

At the door like soiled shoes

Huddled Masses

They flee
because they are forced
They did not choose
to have bombs dropping on their door
They do no want
to live on a hostile foreign shore.

They run
with what is precious
in aching arms
frightened children crying for food
They would rather
be anywhere than in their homes.

A “Black Friday” Limerick

Thanksgiving was yesterday and that is truly the start of the season of over indulging.
We have to push ourselves away from the table on Thursday and push ourselves into the stores on Friday or now Thursday night.
We morph from gut busters into deal busters going straight from lining up at the dessert table to lining up outside of Target and Wal-Mart.
Is this a great country or what? Overeating and over spending…a capital holiday tradition.
