Two squirrels playing in the tree
scurrying about

Suffice to say it seemed to me
that they were having fun
as I passed by quite nonchalantly

Caught a movement in the undergrowth
Looked down at my feet
Saw a little face down there
Looking up, quite sweet
It was a friendly squirrel
Foraging for some food
I smiled and thought that seeing this
Was really rather good

And with it I am pleased
Saved a squirrel from a cat
Just as it pounced and seized

Hey fat squirrel – can’t believe what I’ve seen
You’re eating things you should not have been
The fat balls within their cage so tight
You tugged and tugged with all of your might
