Easter Egg Hunt

I’m devising an Easter egg hunt

it’s a giggle

as I had to squeeze into some spots

with a wiggle

too cunningly hide the eggs

with some guile

as my children have been at this

for quite a while

Found myself in Sussex
in fields of verdant green
Early Spring or Summer
the best that I had seen

and kisses her

it wraps his warmth

Fridays

Fridays come and Fridays go
and most of them are great
But today’s an extra special one
Now here, well worth the wait

Beans ‘n’ Broccoli

Beans ‘n’ Broccoli
we have grown
from tiny seeds
when they were sewn

Sunshine and smiles

To a far flung horizon
beneath a blue sky
Far away in the distance
where warmer climes lie

From a beach on an island
where one day to another
You can never be sure
if it’s winter or summer

Flutter

flutter, flutter, flutter

they fluttered

my fingers, they fluttered

into winged sparrows

 

A “Finally I Have False Teeth” Limerick

I have had a jaw reconstruction. What an ordeal. After 28 months, three surgeries under general anesthetic and a whole lot of wailing on my mouth under a local including installing three implants, I have prosthetic teeth. I am a smile person. I am a friendly cheerful person who likes to smile. I write smile poetry.

Little ribbons

The festival is over
The music’s faded for a while
But thirty thousand wrists
have a memory for a smile

Cheshire Smiles

Hiding the dark corners of my mind

Now please do understand

Whilst surviving childhood

Life creates simple demand

 

Smiles

They warm my heart and spirits
And never go out of style
Like the beaming ones that couples show
As they walk together down the aisle

Nearly all are wonderful
But some mean so much more
Such as those from a loving family
When you walk through the front door.
