There Is A Secret
Hiding Place
I Have
That I Keep

Unknown
To The World

Tri-haiku XXIV (fading sun)

Its autumn apex
takes the sun lower each day
as northwards I face

Summer ends but heat
remains in that strength daily
Save for lesser time

Shadows fall early
So now I must make the most
of a fading sun

Shadows

on the wing of this boat
behind your strewn words
shadows in silver robes

Dancing with Shadows

Any attempt to pin down
this exact moment, that exact image
exactly what I feel and need to say

Serpent’s silence
Hay’s husky hush
Antlers angles

Shadows

I watch my shadow from noon to dusk,
Ever growing in size and lust,
Making me taller than a redwood tree
And stretching the limit of what I can be.

Until the fading sun falls all the way down
And I am beyond the starry lights of town.
Now lost and one with the black nothingness
I am left to mourn my colossal, black hubris.

I kick a stone as I walk home alone,
Struggling to forget the hope I was shown
And accept that I am an ego confined by flesh:
A spirit trapped, and a man depressed.

H ow the dark of night devours

A ll souls who gather near

L onging to reach their destiny

L iving, yet no longer here

Beauties

It’s a mad clamor for the door,
Bodies trying to squeeze into a heart that
Divides all who enter.

Autumn Spires

Shadows of Mist through Tall Autumn Spires,
Sinking Colours in Warm, Sallow Fires,

Transitory Pall

As the Hours of the Velvet Night Fall,
Like the Delicately Singing Enigmatic Call;
Touch as light as the Transitory Pall,

They lurk in the
Dark spots,
Looking out
With hungry, greedy
Eyes,
The night’s feast
Parading on by,
Unaware

Rise

I remain awake to see the first light of day,

To peep silently, my face upraised, seeking blessing

Of the soft lavender glow that bathes the land

The dawn chases the tired shadows of the night

As the spearing rays gently tuck away

The loitering stars that still remain,

I breathe in the freshness of a day reborn

Moonlit night Haiku

Moon’s shadow drifting
silent crows watching beaking
scarfed whispers shiver

Blossom

Sitting here
amidst the falling blossom
of night’s whispers
looking for the one
petal
that is you

I look at the sky
and see endless
patterns of perhaps –
counting
the magical blossoms
wondering
are you looking for the one
that is me

The Rebirth.

She does not party on this night when everyone else will.

Instead, she sits beside his bed, quiet and content.

The moonlight seeps through the venetians,

A twinkle in her eye.

She smiles today,

They say he will wake up.

The lifeless plant seems awoken somehow.

Colour returns to its leaves.

Her gentle caresses and watering, filling it with hope.

She strokes his hair, lingering beside his face.

All emotions within her charred.
