Poetry as pain reliever

(Harry, thanks for the invitation to be a part of Poet’s Corner.  Bill’s been talking about this blog and I’m honored to be part of it.  The following is a poem I posted on my blog, http://sustainabilitea.wordpress.com/, and one that I hope the other poets will enjoy or identify with.   janet)

I used to write a lot of poetry. I think mostly it was a way to work through pain or difficulties. Where I am today, I don’t write much poetry. Perhaps because I am content. Or maybe I write prose poetry or create poetry through cooking, being a better friend, writing cards or creating a home. At any rate, here’s something from my very distant past.
