these rolling hills
vast meadows;
tinged with dawns first light
slowly creeping
as if an intangible caress
from an unseen force
gently awakens
all my eyes behold,

Winter – winter where is thy home?
As the winds swirl and snow blows in.
In winter we build snowmen, ice-skate or sleigh.
Just the same as yonder days.

Swish – swish
A small fish.
Swims near green seaweed.
Over the rocks.
Under a seahorse. A jellyfish. A stingray.
Swish – swish

Swish goes the fish under water.
Tall – green seaweed grow.
Out from the bottom floor.

~ From Afar ~
You, my golden sun
Your brilliance
Radiance
Bedazzles the senses
Broad and bronzed
From afar I watch…
Your feet in frothy foam
Shoulders bear your burden;
I long to be a basket
Strong strides of the Olympian
Your calves glisten
Of sweat, sun and sea
And I trace
With gentle grace
Contours from afar:
Golden sun shower me
With your tropical beams
From sweat to sea
I will play as a mermaid
Teasingly upon your shore.

Everything caked in white.

Eight Christmas’ had come and gone since I felt the urge to be amongst the shoppers; to become part of the hustle and bustle. By the time I was through shopping, I was saddened by the obvious, “there was no Merry in Merry Christmas and no Happy in Happy Holidays”…for the common man, but “Merry Materialistic and a Happy Commercialism” greetings was ringing in my ears, like “the Bells of Christmas” had done, once upon a time, long, long ago.

Puffy fluffy is a hamster.
He has long, fluffy, brown fur.
A stripe of white circles around.
Just behind his chin.
Puffy Fluffy wants to be a lion – roar.
Feel the fur?

Shyness is a condition of the mind that
builds in proportions where fear resides.
Shyness puts a hole in your heart before love can start.
And never allows for the joy a relationship – friendship
could bring.

As intangible caressing embrace
Alluring, intoxicating, seeking…
Let us gather her essence, oils
That we may shine as stars do above

I am terrified of loving you, because it’s all too easy, and I wish I didn’t know how to aim.
Maybe then I wouldn’t leave bullet holes in your heart. But I want to love someone.
Someone who could define me without words, but maybe I was meant to be alone…
because I could hurt you. And all I can do is skin myself against the barbs of self-loathing
(I don’t deserve a single fuck).

Beneath my layers,
within my inner most chamber
is this anchor,
the weight of which
keeps me balanced and centred.
Its measure is that of a feather,
yet its strength ensures I never falter.

If love is cosmic than your heart is my galaxy. A billion stars shinning brightly, contained within the atoms of your body. Your love more central to me, than the grounding force of gravity. The Universe and its majesty a pale comparison to your beauty.

Hearing the Fairy Queen was feeling lonely I journeyed quickly hoping to make her happy. When I arrived the royal court was in a tizzy not knowing how to relieve their majesty’s melancholy. She was so sad she could hardly look at me. Waiting patiently I sat quietly hoping she would reveal her misery. When she spoke it wasn’t with her usual vocal melody. Her once sweet voice sounded painfully tiny. At her feet I strained trying to listen closely, as her words were whispered softly.

My psyche shatters and I’m choking on the splinters.
Gasping for breath the air getting thinner.
Blowing a head gasket the contents under pressure.
From my fractured mind my thoughts erupt like a geyser.

over things that
haven’t happened yet.
I’m too busy battling
the immediate threats
to play imaginary combat.

It sat in the center of my palm, a tiny creature only a few inchs long. It was a bit of fur curled into a ball with a button nose and sharp claws. Lifting its head it smiled at me, and yawned. I smiled back and gave it a nod. Settling back down onto its back it rolled then in a blink it was gone.

The Elf gasped for breath his heart hammering in his chest. The cliff at his back, the Wolf snapping at his neck. Crouching low the Wolf let out a snarl. He was having so much fun making the Elf run that he hated for the chase to be done, but his Queen would begin to worry soon. So by the light of the moon, the Wolf prepared to tear the Elf into two. The Elf imagining himself clever thought himself quicker. He stood his ground waiting for the wolf to lung in hopes to move aside swiftly, so down the wolf would plunge.

Fog hugged the ground.
Through out the forest
nothing made a sound.
Like a collective the
night held its breath.
The creatures all waiting
for the Wolf to strike.
An ethereal mist blotted
out the moon turning
the forest into pitch.
The Wolf however didn’t
need to see.

The creatures all hid in their dens,
none willing to lend a hand.
Only a fool would intrude.
The wolf was on the hunt
searching for the elf.
He had his scent now, and refused
to rest until he was found.
The Queen was some place hidden
her wounds slowly mending.

For hours the Fairy Queen lay fighting for life.
Time pasted from day then back to night.
Finally she let out a sigh and slowly opened her eyes.
She sensed the wolf laying beside her.
She felt his chest heave and
knew with out moving he was angry.
She tried to turn and felt her body burn.
Pain rippled through her.
Next to her the wolf lifted his head and whimpered.
She tried to recall what had caused
her to fall for she didn’t remember her attacker at all.

Shimmering wings lay broken and shattered.
Glittering shards across the forest lay scattered.
Through the trees the wind blows.
From the dark the wolves howl.
Fairy dust trails like blood.
It’s liquid silver seeps into the ground.
Moonlight revels the murderous scene.
In a pool of light lays the Fairy Queen.
Naked and torn her life force nearly gone.
Golden gashes mark her form.

Let me tell you a story
about a boy turned fool.
He met a girl and his
heart flew over the moon.
Whispering in his ear she said;
I swear my love is true.
For you there is nothing
I wouldn’t do.

Compared to you the Sun is a candle, a dim light barely visible.
