AFRAID OF AN ORANGE JUMP SUIT

by thereluctantpoet

By Charles Robert Lindholm

President Trump
Jokes About Leaving America
If  He Loses The Election To Biden

He’s Got A Few Countries
He’s Put On His Short List,
One’s That Don’t Have Extradition
Agreements With The U.S.

It May End Up Being
His Only Hope
Of Not Spending
The Rest Of His Life
In Prison
And Avoiding
Having To Wear
An Orange Jump Suit

He Doesn’t Mind
Locking Up Others
But Doesn’t Want
Anyone To “Lock Him Up!”

So He’s Making Plans
To “Escape From America!”
Just In Case

President Trump Is Facing The Threat Of Criminal Indictments In New York State For Potential Crimes Once He Is Not President. No Wonder He Is Trying So Hard To Win Election By Any Means Possible – Even If It Means
Using The Supreme Court To Insure Ballots Don’t Get Counted. But Just In Case He Doesn’t Win He Wants An Escape Plan.

A TWO FACED LANDSCAPE

by thereluctantpoet

By Christine Bolton And Charles Robert Lindholm

The Shifting Sands
Of The Desert

Have No Empathy
For The Confused
And Unprepared

An Arid Expanse,
A Two Faced
Landscape,
Masking
The Truth,
And The Hidden
Dangers Ahead
With An Alluring Beauty

Misunderstood,
Layered And Complicated
She’s Loved,
Yet Unloved Too,
A Lover To Some
And The Devil
To The Foolish

Unsurmountable
Obstacles Exist
For Those
Who Never Learned
Her Secrets

Arduous
Exhausting
For Body And Soul

A Cage-Less Prison
With No Escape
For The Proud
And Disrespectful,
Burned By The Sun,
Victims Of Thirst,

Who Are Buried
By The Shifting Sands,
And The Wind

Doors and Walls

by Frank Hubeny

The prison key of precious jade
Locked doors of duty finely made.
Love arrived, revised the spell.
The doors survived. The walls though fell.

I Look Down

by marycathleenclark53

From my window
I look down, look down
At the iniquitous world spread out below me
I look down, look down
I see the curst world, but it doesn’t see me

Prison

by wordypenguin

The same old room
I’m waking up again
Windows offer no relief
I’m edged toward the end

My skin’s a book of sorrow
Composed of empty lines
Story of a withered youth
A story of decline
