You look at me,
with eyes full of light
Like a hundred windows to your soul
opening so bright.
You smile, and I,
struck with such unparalleled beauty,
cannot but smile at your pretty face
as the sun behind us fades.

At edge of evening’s solitude I pause to seek the fade,
stretched through every molecule and every breath I trade.
It clings to shadows, soften edged. It claims the ether, still.
It thieves the color from the room and blinds the window sill.

Brain crushing ideals rendering my ability to function irrelevant.
Suffocation, Contradiction, Suffocation, Contradiction.
Words and Paraphrase Dialogue Meaningless.
The ground gripping me, creatures capturing my breath.
Concurrently the world devouring my soul.

I remain awake to see the first light of day,
To peep silently, my face upraised, seeking blessing
Of the soft lavender glow that bathes the land
The dawn chases the tired shadows of the night
As the spearing rays gently tuck away
The loitering stars that still remain,
I breathe in the freshness of a day reborn

that’s the bones of it

Your absence is like an ocean, I’m sinking
It’s like the firmament, stretched over everything
It’s also like a black hole I kept on clutching
But mostly, it’s like a quicksand

I’VE BEEN waiting
Not searching
Because I knew I’ve known you
Long before I met you
You’re the one
I knew
The moment I saw you
I felt something
Something I just can’t explain
Something that is totally different
but then, something familiar

There she is that thing in the corner. She opens her mouth making her life more forlorner. Stupid and ugly is she, tired and tearful she longs to be free. But no for she is that thing in the corner.

Sita in her catnip patch
I’m sharing a bit of fun today. I tackled writing about the very challenging art of sleeping (mostly not) with my cat, Sita.
shoo her
off my
side of the bed
turn off
light and
then address
the dark…
“excuse me
please, you’re
standing on
the quilt”, while
giving it a tug
settle in,
pulling up
the covers..
