Reminiscence

Reminiscence,
Drug of old age.
Shackled to
Ghosts of the past,

Yesterdays

I am re-visiting the past today,
just like I did yesterday,
And I am sure to go back tomorrow,
To be with dear people I know,
In places which no longer exist,
To relive experiences missed,

To time, to tombs, to truths
Trails, traits, trysts, triumphs
Tapered thoughts, tainted thrones
Tulips torn, tulips treasured
Touch tales, timeless tombs

Let us Go Back

The past holds the future.

Don’t be chased. Don’t be chained.

Forget it and we tumble.

Go back and make peace.

PAST

Past
Haunts me more
Than it ever did before
For it has a longer history to pour

Haunted
I stick to myself
Holding tight I wonder
More about the consequences
That could have been well mended

In The End

this path, of golden pebbles

has thorny copper leaves

in the end

this path, of a crushed heart

has a love laid, of fine arms

in the end

Mr. Past

Mr. Past comes after midnight

bringing with him a bag

a bag full of sadness

why always at night?

why not during the day?

so i could look inside his eyes

say “leave me alone, i don’t need the old stuff”

believing in their depth
choosing grave memories

Innocence Lost

Oh at times to have innocence back
To see the world as a small child
Days without care, an easy laugh
Stealing a cookie was getting wild.

Hope dipped baby steps,

As the world turned with time
From years of the past century
Music, evolved from country rhyme
As one opens pages of history

REUNION

I’m not anything I thought I would be,
I don’t drive a Corvette or have a law degree.
I don’t spend my days lounging by water’s edge,
My house lacks crown molding and brushed nickel finishes.

As a child in my memory
Brings back an emotion plenary
Carefree in thought
Doing mischief, but caught
Enjoying a prank
Fun in class, yet good in rank
Gorging on home-made lunch
Happy with mates by the bunch
I do miss those days
Jolly times of childhood ways
Kindness in heart, teachers cared

I remember when I lost my memory

One thing was too many

I tried hard without interest
