A
Monthly Event,
Full Moon Rising,

Words

Deeply is the word he professes
in lipless verses, bent eyes and a high collared coat.
The heart is never worn on a sleeve but often
breaks over a lover’s face like moonlight.
We are unconstant, unstable, unmanageable
under the Terms and Conditions of Modern Love.
We check no boxes, gather no bouquets,
make no stringent declarations or mad attempts

Silhouette

At twilight down on Shoreham Beach
When the light is fading fast
And the whisper of the turning tide
Is dark as we walk past

The rising moon out to the East
Glistens on wet sand
Bright just like the sunshine
In the shadows where we stand

The moon shines brightly

Dancing in the Light

She curtsies to the light, from yonder sky

Deep in the woods, as the night floats by

Ordinary Magic

Moonlight and shadow

Play against my walls

Trace my curves

Reveal my secrets

In this backside of the night

Owls swoop by my open window

That she is fully visible

Able to be deciphered

In her unbuttoned

Unzipped state

His eyes are open

Moon’s captured light

Newly shrouded in night
Their silhouettes barely visible
Beneath a crescent moon

Will you dance with me

in this silvery pool

of moonlight

that falls across

your face

like a watered silk?

Of Chincoteague and Longing

You have the makings
Of a mustang, long legs

And long neck. Veins
That bulge in the noontime,

Blue as sapphire under
Moonlight. Your auburn mane
