A kindness

by Jem Croucher
It's not being selfish as sometimes you need
a kindness extended to self
a pampering here
for a top up of cheer
all to keep you in perfect health

And it's not just your body but your mind of course too
that needs looking after each day
mental health care
to keep you aware
and help you along on your way

Chalk Bones

by Anita Lubesh

chalk bones whips blush poem

My cheeks inherited
these whispered blushes.
Above them sits one jewel
in the traverse
of my brow’s flesh,
a stream of teardrops,
permanently nestle
in the body of my face –

Take A Step

by graypoet

sloanesolanto

I am never sure where my mind will wander
At times I feel that I am in complete control
Other times it wanders as if it was not mine
Leading me on a journey into a black hole.

Standing Under Understanding

by graypoet

 understanding

We can try as hard as we might to comprehend life
Dreams always seem to be goals worth our pursuing
However feelings always seem to get in the path
As we struggle to get to the point of understanding.

Stay Up

by Renwick Berchild

They glare, the lanterns of the city, the rooftops lit with minds
that cannot sleep, with eyes

that will not close, and mine are along, the plung
of neuroticism; rest rises up and sudden there’s the tug. We’re
hot, a blade in need of pounding, the urge
to spin, lofty dreams, haggard visions, twisting
our teeth like screws. But the builders build. The makers make.

Thoughtless

by graypoet

The mind is a tool that should never stop working
Yet all too often rather than listen and take heed
We choose to ignore the warnings it tries to give
Believing that the heart knows better what we need.

MONSOON SEASON

by thereluctantpoet

By Charles Robert Lindholm

Your leaving me is like a monsoon season
Constant thoughts of you
                                     pounding
on the tin roof of my mind
day and night
                    like water torture
