I spent July 4th with my lifelong friend Jerry and his wife Rosana. Jerry is my buddy that has an uncanny way of supplying me with material for my limericks and once again, he came through for me. And he does it without even trying.

Touching The Divine

Feel the Lingering Breath of Day, Caress my skin with Smiling,
Under the Soothing Reassurance of the Golden Setting Sun,
Close my eyes,

Eyelids resting on peaceful closed eyes,
Holding the calm, inside of his mind
Muscles lay soft on the bones of his face,
At one with his world, tensions died

This vision of him, brings me down to the earth
A reminder that balance is mine
To conquer, control, this gift of the taking
As Buddha, in meditation Divine

The Shaman’s Horse

“I am a circle within in a circle/
with no beginning and never ending…”

Mantra say over and again,
Vibrating within; a meditation refrain.
Circle, sway, shuffle, dance:
Chant and drum drum into trance…
Shaman-like the Spirit moves
Hear the thu-thunder of ethereal hooves-
Flying free riding the Shaman’s Horse
Taking an unusual dream-like course
To the sound of the d-rum d-rum beat
Released from the body Travelling fleet

every moment of your breath.

Breathing in deeply, take stock of within.

Breathing out slowly, what do you feel?

Is something joyful tickling your heart or are

you struggling with a painful twinge in your arm?

Just take notice as these sensations arise

and then let them go gently, leaving judgment behind.
