Soft Heart 
Tender Heart
Beating Next To My Heart

As We While Away The Hours

With Rainy Skies Above

I AM BLESSED

 Every night I count my blessings

and I‘m thankful for each one

’cause I know I‘ve not been promised

I‘ll see the rising sun

 

 Every moment is so precious

every day is special too

but the memories that I treasure most

have all been made with you

 

You are the love I‘ve longed for

You are my dream come true

and I know each day

that I am Blessed

when I wake up next to you

Sitting on the silky sand enjoying the afternoon,

Watching the sun set over the mystic horizon of the Atlantic,

Searching for Muse lost

Was it that long ago, by

The south seas

Warm waves crashing,

Bursting bubbles caressing

Meet Again Where the Boardwalk Begins

This moment twists in on itself
A cruel freak show contortionist
Who stares agape, tear-carved
Deltas from his made up eyes.

If only it would twist into a pretzel
With lots of salt
That we’d eat with mustard.
Two kids on a boardwalk,

Perfect Storm

Our wild emotions were brewing
slowly and surely
simmering and rising to the surface
ready to be spilled
poured out of our hearts
where it was becoming
a fruitless task
to keep us apart

I have read the fairy tales and
stories of love
for time eternal
they are as true as they come
if I could only believe
the prince charming for real

A pretend wife am I—
My body belongs to you
But another man claims my soul

Morning dawns
Light sliced into ribbons
Falls delicately upon rumpled sheets

Crystalline Memory

We fell into memory

like sea salt into soup pot

crystalline structure

losing integrity

dissolving

into warm liquid

Why Must You Be So Wonderful?

Why must you be so wonderful to me?
Those lips of yours that taste of sweet red wine
Call out to me and beckon, “Come and dine.”
And I, so helpless to ignore their plea.
