At Twilight…

by Jem Croucher

Two figures on a darkened shore
down by the glistening sand
Out there in the distance
walking hand in hand

This is a time for lovers
with a new moon in the sky
As, on a turning tide, the waves
whisper with a sigh

Why Must You Be So Wonderful?

by lindaluna583

Why must you be so wonderful to me?
Those lips of yours that taste of sweet red wine
Call out to me and beckon, “Come and dine.”
And I, so helpless to ignore their plea.

You Give Me Mornings

by markfahmy

you-give-me-mornings

you give my soul a break
from its internal fights
and you give me mornings
in between my nights

you draw me to your sun
after years of living in cold
and you whisper love to my ears
words I’ve never been told

Love

by Nick Anthony

To think, you’re finally here with me!
After years of relentless, flirtatious banter,
Sometimes as playful as puppies, we were:
Other times more serious than a snake bite–
Always fruitless my affections were.

Unattainably distant, you seemed to me.
A hazy speck just beyond the horizon,
Across the ocean of my life.
And I, stranded on my little island,
Couldn’t possibly build a smoke signal
Tall enough to alert your look-out.

Do I Love You Enough

Do I Love You Enough?

-Linda Lee Lyberg

Another year has gone by and I ask

Do I love you enough?

Spinning, rushing through this life

Trying to be tough

Never falter, never blunder

Yet now I begin to wonder-

Do I Love You Enough?

Turn the Night On

by braveandrecklessblog

This is a collaboration between S Francis (SailorPoet) and Christine Ray (Brave and Reckless)
Won’t you stay,
My love?

Outside snow falls steady
Gusted by north wind
Tapping at our window
Inside these walls
A fire burns

First Love

by markfahmy

firstlove

Do you remember
the very first time
you fell in love?
Staying awake
long past bedtime
on a school night

And the butterflies
you felt firing up
in your stomach
every time you
saw her eyes?

Skin

by braveandrecklessblog

It is rumored that there are 50 words

In the Eskimo language for snow

I ponder

Why are there not 50 words in the

English language

That I could draw upon

To describe that moment

When your bare skin

Touches my bare skin?

I Wonder If

by markfahmy

her

I still feel..
your lips on mine
as I held you close
and your hair did shine
under a million stars
when everything seemed to align.

I wonder if..
you think about me too
when you lie in bed at night
under a million different stars
knowing my heart still belongs to you.

Her

by markfahmy

her

I look at her as she dreams her mind away,
like she always does.
And I cannot find the words I want to say,
every one of my thoughts seems to have run away.

She smiles quietly and holds my hand,
and stars in far away galaxies would jubilantly dance.
My heart pumps more blood to my mind that does not understand,
how can a simple girl own my world with a single glance?

On One Knee

by markfahmy

on-one-knee

You look at me,
with eyes full of light
Like a hundred windows to your soul
opening so bright.

You smile, and I,
struck with such unparalleled beauty,
cannot but smile at your pretty face
as the sun behind us fades.
