Lost and found II

Hidden in small corner
I found something I'd lost
saved me there the hardship
of counting up a cost
for it was something precious
I hold dear to my heart
and which when separated
felt at loss when there apart
So now it's found I'm happy
reunited once again
continuity rekindled
as together we remain

Ballad of a Stray

“Shoo!” they say to me all day,
As I wander, unwanted and alone,
Down lonely streets, looking for meat,
And a dry place to call my home.

Among the two-legs, I scavenge their dregs
My ribs bruised by their kicks,
While snobby Maltese snub my maladies:
Rabid and half consumed by ticks.

My name is purple turtle,
and it’s no fun to be alone.

I found myself inside a box
with a lot of noise around,
and then I was lifted to a shelf
where I am sitting now.

Forever and a day I’ve been at sea
Discovering foreign lands inside of me,
Each island bald or capped by tuft of trees
But peak of yet another territory.

A Tiny Drop

If the world is an ocean

And, I, just a drop

That moves along the collective wave motion

Secretly wishing that it would stop

 

Whirlwinds, tornadoes circulating through

And I, a tiny drop, in the midst of it all

Does not know what it should do

Bumping and turning till it finds its role

We are lost words searching
for a poem we once knew
Somehow we were parted
and it’s left us feeling blue
We feel bereft and lacking
it’s not nice to be alone
We should be with all the other words
in a poem that’s our home
