Together in the Distance

by Abigail Gronway

a
gentle
hum
somewhere
interrupts
the still-
ness
of a
lonely night,
and threatens to
distract me
from my
thoughts
of you.

The Lonely Stair

by Renwick Berchild

At its height aloneness is the pale star.

So far, and distant, when the light at last reaches our eye
it is one hundred years gone.

I act accordingly,
(my god is an outlier god)
when all are in rise,
I must fall, when all are out walking, I must be sitting,
when all are descending, I must ascend, for when the powers tied
the strings, I was not to be found at my station along the line.

I Am the Sorrow

by braveandrecklessblog

Some days I do not just feel sorrow

Some days I am the sorrow

I am the grey sky

That threatens spitting snow

I am the heaviness in your limbs

Your shuffling gait

Reluctant to get

Where you are expected

Devil’s Table

by Zia Jane

Everyday I see you and smile,

We talk and laugh, all is stable,

But when you pass the lights go out

And I find my place at the devil’s table.

They know me there,

More than is surely good

But I don’t judge, my friends all,

Faceless pains under every hood.

Waiting for that someone?

by Sandeep

Waiting for someone3

Prelude: Facsimile – dVerse Poetics

She told us all about herself,
And, in the end
She asked for help.

Each one in shock,
Asked their own self,
“Did she just speak about me,
Or, tell about herself?”
Because, all of what
She was going through,
Pain, agony, fear and despair,
Was, essentially, true,
For each one of them too.
And, each has had a long wait,
Like her, for that someone,
Who would come and satiate.

Awaken Me

Buckling with aqueous weight

Karmic Flow

by Seafarrwide

Who loves me not

Who loves me so

The deep intake of breath

The instant spark that left its mark

Fluttering butterflies in my depth

The forward sweep the backward leap

Could I give into this

His eyes shone bright would I take flight

I wavered on the abyss

Loneliness

by Seafarrwide

06bc086519d3bb22b8a4ee52b6ef9bad

Loneliness adds to the beauty and colours of life

In music blissful tunes invite you to trance

Spooning the notes, sorrow begins it’s sweet dance

Loneliness is the language for expressing the pain

Feeling unwanted  uncared for names yelled in vain

Wearing a cloak of darkness a poverty of self

Neglected alone on an old dusty shelf

Poetry Challenge: Christmas

by Jem Croucher

Poetry challenge: Christmas poem.

IMGP5536

A sobering thought

Can I ask your indulgence for just a mo?
and to picture a scene with me?
It’s cold and it’s started snowing
And down there, close to the sea
There’s an empty bus shelter and an old cardboard box
And a man on a bench looking grim
Do you remember that day when you were shopping in town
Can you not remember him?

Waiting

She is a flower blossoming in his sunshine.
Beautiful in spring bud she is perfect,
But she does not know it.
He is blind to it.
And only outstretched in his warm rays does she feel it.

Cancer of the Soul

by Heather's Starting End

download

I see me now,
And reflect on a time when
Once lost ,
Needing to be found again

I see those years,
Just a walk on part
On the stage
Of my life
In a house I occupied,
But where I did not
Live
In a bed I slept,
But did not
Dream
