Paths Not Taken

by graypoet

We walk along the path of life’s journey
Not always sure just what we might see
At times we are eager to run on ahead
Wondering with who or what we will be.

Secret grin

by Jem Croucher

Golden rays from the sun on a towerblock landscape
The city rests from the day
And suit-clad workers on the train rattle by
The twenty-past eight on its way

The tannoys are quiet now, the sirens at rest
A brittle peace settles in
But there, in the silence of commuter unrest
A man sits alone with his grin

It’s not the most attractive view
But the sunshine doesn’t care
For it beams on me regardless
When at home or out elsewhere

Earlier on it was in Telford
Up in Shropshire, far away
Whilst I waited from my train to come
At the end of a full day

A grand day out

by Jem Croucher

We’re on a train to London
Six Crouchers and a Jones
We’ve had a cup of coffee
and we’ve charged up all our phones
We’ve eaten all the crisps
and played some guessing games
And when the train passed by the airport
we marvelled at the planes

Travelling to my office
Every day upon the train
I get to see the Sussex hills
and smile at them again
Their undulating rise and fall
The many fields of green
Quite the best view, I would say
That I have ever seen

Happy thoughts

by Jem Croucher

Another journey, ears are cold
Morning’s here (or so I’m told)
Five forty-five, a half light’s here
Find the time, get back in gear

Another train, a few more miles
Put on brave face, greet it with smiles
Find some words, write them down
as on I go to London town

Blurred fields

by Jem Croucher

There are no hills out there
Quickening, as light fades
the green speeds by

Yellow, a far horizon glows
‘neath a darkening strip
with smoke drifting

Is There A Message In A Bottle

by graypoet

We have heard of looking for a message in a bottle
What do those words really mean as we contemplate
If we really found the message would we know it
Or maybe we would we realize it just a little too late.

You Are A Lovely Sight

by Venkat

You carry me far away
Remind of life’s journey
A life made from clay
Ever changing, curvy

You bring nature within
In the sights and sound
Moving as the earth’s spin
Hills, farms, trees around

“What is your most fervent wish?”

She looked at me, puzzled.

“Whatever do you mean?”

I didn’t really hear it, though.

Some spoke later,

“did you know?”

“Oh, did you hear?”

A Magnificently, Extraordinary Journey Indeed.

by Jen Thompson

Once upon a time I opened a book.

Beyond its pages is where I had to look.

Deep in the centre,

Was the World that I entered…

I fell down a rabbit hole,

To be greeted by my friend the mole.

As we walked people would shout ‘hello’,

The road we followed, the brightest of yellow.

A terrifying journey.

by Harry

We were setting off on our journey.
Which we all hoped we would enjoy.
Eagerly waiting,with tickets in hand.
To get on and then settle down.

Now at last our time had come.
We all moved forward to board.
Got to our seats and looked around.
Great, its time to get belted in.
