Yellow, I see them
and myriad colours more
Jewels in the night sky

Brightening the light sparkles

Gathered in a darkened sky
Night became as day

Caught, I am running
to find shelter beneath trees
Raindrops from above

Soft, warm and gentle
getting wet doesn’t matter
as the water falls

Night of blue
Stars align with moon
Bright sky
Clarity subsumes
All within its grasp

Music as comforter
enters my soul
Enlightens my mind
making me whole

petals stretched out
Full bloom
I exude yellow
and smile

Just a few words is all it takes
to change the way I feel
Escapism? maybe sometimes
but they have the power to heal

Just a few words each morning
finds a way to say
something new to bring a smile
and brighten up my day

I am your words
there for the taking
Sometimes accepted
other times not
Yet always captured
For I am yours
and always will be
To use as you will
and leave as you choose

Staying til sunset
down at the beach
is something we do
‘cos it’s in easy reach
We might have a swim
or relax in the sun
but whatever we do
we always have fun
