I think it was Bizet the zebra was playing
in Brighton today in the sun
Nocturne in D Major if I’m not mistaken
Yes, I think that piece was the one

Damp

 

A damp morning’s followed
by a damp afternoon
It’s the dampest it’s been
since the damp days of June
It’s damp in the garden
and damp on the street
It’s damp everywhere
It’s a dampness complete

A hot cup of tea

Do you ever get days
When your mind’s not in gear
They come along sometimes
Once or twice in a year
You can’t settle to anything
Concentration’s a chore
And you can’t really remember
What your day was all for.

I halve a spelling chequer

Volcanoes In Kitchen: Humor

as I look behind
into yesterday’s history
volcanoes in kitchen
missiles of ballistic range
fires in eyes, holes in heart

Delayed sleep

A modern curse?

Tick tock goes the clock

The light’s too bright

The breathing too loud

 

The broken voice

When Jimmy woke that fateful day
He knew something had gone away

Grey rainy day. Not quite summer

Then start again

A Note to Spouse

You still are my unread book
Don’t give a quizzical look

I sit here trying to write

A poem to please the readers

Tapping keys to make a line

And then deleting most of it

The words are not coming

They don’t seem to fit

Tapping, tapping only in hope
