as we sat with cup of tea
in January sunshine there with Sal
and Holly, Grace, Wolfgang and me
He made a happy picture there
synonymous, replete
so I quickly took a picture
making this fine day complete
On Mother's Day no flowers to give
for mine has passed away
no chocolates or special treats
to spoil her on this day
But though with tinge of sadness
I recall the life she had
the happiness and laughter
there means I am mostly glad
Hidden in small corner
I found something I'd lost
saved me there the hardship
of counting up a cost
for it was something precious
I hold dear to my heart
and which when separated
felt at loss when there apart
So now it's found I'm happy
reunited once again
continuity rekindled
as together we remain
For me it's usually in the sun
when summer's kissed the sky
and I'm down upon the beach
where slow seas quietly lie
But it can be most anywhere
just need wide open eyes
so you will spot it when it's found
and not be that surprised
I'm back here in my favourite field
drifting circles in the wind
my little ears all streamlined
as my jowls assume a grin
for this is my enjoyment
my happy time and more
running free for ages
cool earth beneath my paws
My humans shiver in the chill
but I just run and run
as I'm here in my element
in this my field of fun
A splash of vibrant yellow
on the table brought a grin
reminded us of summer
from this winter place we're in
Supermarket daffodils
several weeks ahead of Spring
have no sense of timing
yet encourage us to sing
First time to London
in two years or more
all Crouchers together
for good times galore
So this morning we all
are up with the lark
for coffee and toast
before we embark
We're heading for South Bank
Tate Modern no less
as we've all missed the vibe
we will freely confess
The company jocund
the excitement complete
we can barely contain
and keep still in our seat
There was ice in my field
round the tree in the middle
most of it solid
but some of it brittle
But I didn’t mind ‘cos
the ground it was firm
so my paws found their grip
with less squither and squirm
And I ran and I ran
my ears all at random
exploring three acres
in sheer joy abandon
I’ve found again my happy place
I’ve been away too long
but pleased that I was back again
my heart was filled with song
and beaming as I found my gait
with rhythm in my stride
I laughed and grinned with pleasure there
in Sussex countryside
The beach, yes I know
I have written before
and will again, I am certain of that
For when I am here
my heart’s full of cheer
and sees happiness here as a fact
I sat outside and sunned myself
at the end of March
it was warm out in the sunshine
underneath the larch
It was a little windy
but I didn’t mind a bit
‘Cos I was in my element
and enjoying all of it
Sunshine’s out there bright and high
warm and always shining
So, resolute, I’m joining it and
stopping all the whining
As safely in my garden I can
keep at social distance
yet be outside enjoying life
and sunshine at this instance
I sit in the sunshine
the hours pass me by
just watching the sea
‘neath the blue of the sky
There’s no one else here
I’m completely alone
Just the sound of the sea
on a beach that’s my own
