It was back to the loop with a whim and a way as the sun was quite warm on this late April day and I was on leave and the hills were all green and the chalk of the trail is the best I have seen so I put best foot forward with this walk 'cos it's there reacquainting myself with this pleasure to share
Back to the loop
Abundance II
Something different every time in this familiar place visited most weekends as it's our saving grace Obi gets his running time as we follow, slower gait and every time throughout the year new pleasures there await Something different every time some small, some larger still await us when we visit our abundance to refill
Wolfgang and I
Visiting my used to be

Once in a while those halcyon days with an echo call out from the years and with whimsy in hand I'll visit those days of my formative smiles and my tears I'll see in mind's eye with clarity there the memories of what was once me and though I still am and proud of the fact it's nice to see my used to be
Youth rekindled
Christmas Eve
5 of 5 in the Jemverse series ‘The week before Christmas’
Christmas Eve Friday is here at long last let the japes and the cheer now begin for this family together as it has now forever is bursting with laughter and grin For this is our happiness and nothing less cathartic and wondrous and free all six here as one for plenty of fun to share with this great family
Our field
So many times we've both walked this field with our little dog, Obi in the heart of the Weald Just north of Steyning on the Partridge Green road it's been here our haven and many times strode Each time we come here something different we see whilst Obi does running quite safe and quite free and we never grow weary despite knowing it well as it's wholesome and lovely which these words I think tell
I waved a long shadow
I waved a long shadow by a favourite tree in a favourite field where I love to be the sunshine was bright but with rain in the air though sadly no rainbow was evident there But as usual the joy of the wander we had in Seven Tree Field just made our hearts glad and our little dog, Obi he ran and he ran with exuberant gait with which all dogs can

Our haven
Here comes Friday
And with morning three words came 'Here comes Friday' my waking eye with silent whisper said, I beamed The sunshine decided September had still more summer to give warmth remaining here it seemed And outside my window the golden one waved gregariously from the East with its hat on Comfort gleaned
Summer’s swansong II
Deep Blue
The deep blue of this summer sky is quite enough for me here in the field of seven trees where Obi runs quite free These really are our special times this hour each week we spend and, truth be told, for sanity on this we both depend For it is a solace, comfort too to walk an hour here at the evening of a weekend to fill our hearts with cheer
In my room II

In my room I have my stuff and it is lovely here because it's somewhere I can come and play at any time on any day sometimes a game or music here or writing poems to bring me cheer and my small dog young 'Obi' there will safely snooze and with me share this little room where I can come and be myself and have some fun
Release II
In Lewes on the river path we walked beside the Ouse watched it flow in from the sea meandering to use That aged water, aged flow o'er many years has seen and where along its grassy banks many souls have been In Lewes Wolfgang, Sal and I in spite of summer rain walked up beside the river as we are back here again That aged water, aged flow cathartic here today releasing the endorphins in every single way
Married on a birthday

Went to a birthday party in Surrey, Saturday night took us a while to get there but that was quite alright Loud cheers when we got there the celebrations had begun so we hurried there to join them so we'd not miss out the fun And we found the cheers had purpose for the birthday and for now as my brother had got married on his birthday with a vow
Treasure Trove II
I get lost in a good bookshop they are like a treasure trove and fortunately Lewes town has them in spades and droves So of a Wednesday morning with the sunshine proving warm we drove there for a browsing which for us has been the norm And in a darkened basement I found Nirvana waiting there shelves of ancient volumes just waiting there to share their secrets with the reader who will in their pages find the treasures that I speak of for the soul and for the mind Yes, I get lost in a good bookshop for with patience and good measure I know that every time I come I'll find a waiting treasure. ©Jemverse
And today there were sheep
And today there were sheep
In the lower field still
jumping about and
climbing the hill
They ignored us of course
but I waved just the same
as they didn’t know
the reason we came
For today there were sheep
but sometime there are not
Sometimes it is cold
and sometimes it is hot
But we always come
because this is our grace
and together we three
are alive in this place
Grins as wide as wide can be
The whimsy of a long moment
Social distance birthdays
Jab
Got the text on Monday morning
best news I have had
as today in just a little while
I’ll have had the job
And yes, we’ll still be careful
but if you need a thing
to put a smile upon your face
and give you cause to sing
Then this is up there at the top
of all the things to give
Something truly wonderful
allowing all to live
For Pops
Look at me now Pops, I’m an older man now
I’m past sixty, the years have flown by
That slap in the face
has long turned to grace
yet still on this day I will cry
Nineteenth of February nineteen seventy-four
etched in my mind for all time
The day that you left
leaving family bereft
although all these years later we’re fine
I AM BLESSED
By Charles Robert Lindholm
Every night I count my blessings
and I‘m thankful for each one
’cause I know I‘ve not been promised
I‘ll see the rising sun
Every moment is so precious
every day is special too
but the memories that I treasure most
have all been made with you
You are the love I‘ve longed for
You are my dream come true
and I know each day
that I am Blessed
when I wake up next to you
