Halloween Horror

Moonlight hidden on a foggy night

yellow eyes glowing under a scarlet veil

shadows soaring on abandoned walls

this could be the stuff of nightmares

The skeletons are coming out clattering about.

Jack-o-lanterns light the night, glowing softly.

Spooks all around me,
Feeding off my sanity.
Must be Halloween!

The Fog

Stillness Whispers All Around,

Delicate,

Imperceptible,

Incongruous Sound;

Shroud

Echoes Mute and Transitory

Fleetingly Heard Upon the Breeze,

Mask Interminable Silence,

As Moans Escape the Beguiling Seas

These desiccated roses show the dying of our love,
As do these rotting corpses who were once a pair of doves.

Look inside the cauldron
We’ve something here for you
Stir and stir, we must you see
To make this witch’s brew

Stillness Whispers All Around,

Delicate,

Imperceptible,

Incongruous Sound;

Mystic Fire

Black of Night in Beguiling Shade,

Misconstrue and Silently Enshroud,

While All the Harmony of Quietus Ensues,

Transitory Pall

As the Hours of the Velvet Night Fall,
Like the Delicately Singing Enigmatic Call;
Touch as light as the Transitory Pall,

Halo of Flame

Whispering Secrets

The Night Won’t Name,

Denizen

Denizen of the Sullied Night,

Gazing Perpetually

With Diabolic Light,

Sing of Enticements

Wanton and Fair,

Intoxications Beyond Compare;

of laughing
world fizzed over
every window

In the vale dense fog was rising
Creeping ghostly about the trees
And the night owls eyes were glowing
Stalking his prey tenaciously

A snap of twig a rustle of leaf
Intensified the eerie scene
My imagination began running wild
After-all, this night was Halloween!

Fear

The senses succumb

while a consciousness lingers.

Sinking through the dark,

futile curses toward heavens

sluggishly fly to no one;

a last reach for life.

A Trick Or Treat Limerick

The little ones are such cutie pies
Trick or treating in their Halloween disguise.
My sweet memories make me think,
Parents, don’t blink,
Because the trick is really how fast time flies.

Dark-Iron Tree

North wolf-door belongs

To the Devil in songs;

The dark iron-tree

Born of dead-sky-sea

Fell through fire, slate

Thick boar-skull plate

And dragon-crest helm

Into the Albion magic realm.

A “Trick Or Treat” Limerick

It is officially here. Overeating season. It starts with Halloween, moves on to Thanksgiving, after that it is an avalanche rolling down the mountain with Christmas, and New Years until it slams into the Super Bowl. Then clothes don’t fit and it is New Year’s resolution time.
