My Pancakes Sang the Blues

by pranabaxom

Poem based on my culinary skill experimentation making breakfast today (8-31-2017) morning

Breakfast time,  to the kitchen,  pancakes on the menu today,
Healthy choice, blueberry pancakes, to start the day.

Searched the fridge, no fresh berries, what to do,

Midwinter’s Song

by maiasong

falling upon my heart

cradled in heavens arch

I listen as you pass

sensing your breath as it blows

fogging the frozen window in crystalline lace

where through my sleepy gaze

I sway like the draping branches

of the young willow pausing the ripples

Long Life ? not for me.

by willowdot21

The ground lies frozen like your heart.

My loves lies bleeding your cruel words wrenched it apart.

A blood red stain spreads fed by my tears

Shed silently watering the growth of my fears.

Sharp new icicles tinged in red look so pretty

Belying their hard hearts, mean and bereft of pity.

My hand is frozen like your heart. My fingers

Are lifeless like the dark barren trees.
