My Pancakes Sang the Blues

Poem based on my culinary skill experimentation making breakfast today (8-31-2017) morning

Breakfast time,  to the kitchen,  pancakes on the menu today,
Healthy choice, blueberry pancakes, to start the day.

Searched the fridge, no fresh berries, what to do,
Frozen berries, used for smoothies,  to the rescue.

Distant Edges

A bee I am not
A bee I need not be
Hovering upon
To taste this love, sweet

Happy I am, as a snail
Upon that distant edge
Wrapped in your fragrance
Sweet

Baguette

 

If I could capture the aroma in my home today
and put that into words on this page
I’d do so in an instant for, with freshly baked bread
I am sure it would become all the rage

Love, Too Distant

This home
Walls of leaves, green
Sunlight, beaming low from edges
Of coconuts huddled high

Monday Morning

today dear, is a wonderful day
in the sun glistened moist dew
my heart pulses loud, as I pray
as a newborn flower, feeling new

A New Day

Another dew fresh moment

Swathed in a waft of soap

Yearning taste buds

Promises to keep

A new day on the edge

A glance at rewards of past

Coffee vapor by the tray

Time to wear a smile
