He was a junkyard dog
wild and untamed
but his growling and barking
didn’t scare her

I am a lion, in jungles of thought
A king of jungle, on muscles wise
A wind on nerves, of distant paws
Master of the game, when hunger roars

Jungle, my master
Dark spaces, my mother
Whispering leaves, my father

fear, a cool creature
laughing out loud
enjoying the torture
for it stands at a distance
while we tie ourselves
by our own greasy ropes

Strength: No Escape

my truth, complete, indivisible
no thirst, no doubt, no yearn
it stands by itself, for itself
no misgivings, no speculation

a mind unswayed
by disguises of time
