Easter Bunny

by Wendy Strohm

(for the Poetry Challenge on Poet’s Corner)

I’ve a little poem that’s a little funny

A little story about the Easter Bunny

He thought this year he’d make a change

And expand upon his usual range

He thought of different types of choc

To create a joke and a bit of a mock

Orangey carrot and several vegetable greens

Replaced the traditional caramel creams

But no-one was keen on their new Easter Eggs

So he had to run away on his wee little legs.

things were simpler in my day.
Easter eggs were those we made,
decorated ones that the hen had laid.
