of your skin upon mine
or drink in all your kisses
like some fabled, vintage wine

I was tempted
but I resisted
it was easy
when I had no desire
when I had no need
when I had no hunger
I said, “No”
before I met you

Lay me down among the pines.
I smell earth, wood and your skin.
The sun dapples your face.
Goose flesh in the breeze.
Bird calls echo my sighs.

More than time.
Protect. Adore.
More than touch.
Bread to my starving flesh.
More than yearning.
Quench the fire.

“Mysteries of attraction could not always be explained through logic. Sometimes the fractures in two separate souls became the very hinges that held them together.”
― Lisa Kleypas, Devil in Winter

That insatiable thirst
which rises from the depth of my soul
and devours me like a wildfire
this incessant need
to be wrapped around your soul
like an unstoppable contagion

“Love is the way messengers
from the mystery tell us things.
Love is the mother
we are her children.
She shines inside us,
visible-invisible, as we trust
or lose trust, or feel it start to grow again.”

After forgetting about the moment hear and now
Neglecting the good, golden rays falling upon the brow

Excitement and focus
Exactly as she wants
Ecstasy tied to a tug on my hair.

How now should we handle these water lilies?
One stone could break the sunset. I’ve a mind
to skip rocks, glide into a wade, feel beneath
with my bare feet, and leave you on the shore.
For night tiptoes, then jumps, weighing dusk in;
we’ve not much time, and this, is to my advantage.
In love, woman are ahead, and men behind; as luck
would have it, I am to be far beyond reach. I think
I may dunk into the blooms atop, and like a seabird
sail under you, as breaths waft alow heavy eyes.
Though by your height, your breath this late eve
has a clear path straight to my soul’s window.

Original KYLE T. DIBERT, DECEMBER 20th, 2017:
…shooting up the veins of the heart city, – a hundred miles an hour – as a a good junkie does well, and I can tell, that, despite admiration, I am fated for hell & yet oh well I don’t mind where all the ground fell while I was staring up at you through this miraculous well, and you were bankrupt before you decided to sell, and at your coffin, coughing casualties at commiserating children kissing flowers, praying by the hour, to not tower thus so high that one falls and usurps vitality, – power which dwindles stale & dwindles thus more sour; as if in high

Shining through the dark stormy skies
An unwavering stare leaves me undone
When he sees the longing within my eyes.

That haunt me in the lonely night
Although I know they’re filled with lies
Your shining charisma I cannot fight.

I am not in love with anyone. Pablo Neruda, Nikki Giovanni,
Shakespeare, and all his fair women, dressed in men’s robes,
have nothing on me.
Flinty, unyielding; that is what they called me.
No tree could brace against my wind.
In my savage silence, I could sabotage all lovers’ din;
heavy, and unmatchable, though, I strike a rock in orange brightness.
