Thirteen Demons Sitting on the Wall

by Frank Hubeny

Lucky this or lucky that,
Luck as bad as that black cat
Cuddling, purring by my side,
Unlikely place for luck to hide.

Thirteen demons looking mean
Pretending that I haven’t seen
Them cackling when they watch me frown.
Too bored to laugh, I stare them down.

It’s not bad luck that made them fall.
They jumped like Humpty from the wall
And then they cracked.  Oops.  Breakfast time!
You’re lucky. That’s my final rhyme.

Highland Hallucinations

by Nick Anthony

Lanky four-legged beasts,
Macabre silhouettes in the morning light,
Cast shadows into the icy valley below,
Prolonging the slumber, if only for a second,
Of the yet-snoozing in their colorful caves.

The creatures slowly creep skyward,
Laboriously climbing to the rocky ridge,
Taking long strides with gaunt forelegs
No thicker than sticks and just as straight.
It seems the giraffe of Broadway gave up the spotlight
To graze the vertical savanna of Japan’s mountains.
Packing our gear, we head out on safari.

Demons

by Megha's World

So, how much control you have on your feelings? You think you have mastered your desires and the no temptation can stir your soul. You think you have tamed the demons inside you. Wait and watch till the next temptation shows up.
Wait till the demon shows up.

So you think you can tame the fire

WILL YOU LET ME LOVE YOU?

by thereluctantpoet

By Charles Robert Lindholm

I don’t know who I am yet
for I have not faced the darkest night
nor heard the howling demons
that hunger for my soul

I have not felt the razors edge
nor heard the wooing whispers
tempting me to use it
to let my blood be
the ink of my final poem

4th Oct’17  ~by Venkat

Day’s dimples dug deep
Dangle dreams, dilemmas
Dancing daisies, daggers
Demons die, daffodils dull
Daffodils do, demons devour

Fading Picture of an Unknown Beggar Girl

by pranabaxom

Fading Picture of an Unknown Beggar Girl was first published in my blogsite fleetingmuse.wordpress.com in December, 2015

Settling down on my seat,
For the long journey ahead to my college town,
With a book in my hand
To drown the hustle and bustle of passengers,
All along the platform, up and down.

It waits beyond
The thinnest walls
Waiting,
Wanting,
Talons vainly trying
To get in.

Defeat

by Nick Anthony

wp-1473145041285

Captured by demons.
Long nails gouge my ego
With gnarled fingers.
Ever they’ve crept in my wake.
At last, my race is over.

Red

by marycathleenclark53

Sinister Bad Wolf embraces misirable Red Riding Hood over dark background

Dark woods, deep woods, deathly woods,
Through them I rush-race-run.
Moon glows, moon shows, moon knows,
Soon I will be done.

Bog sucks, bog slurps, bog swallows,
Stealing the boots from my feet.
Briars snatch, briars catch, briars latch,
Determined we shall meet.

The Story is Told: Loop Poem

by Rana

Poetry challenge: loop poetry.

Of angels and demons,

demons in my view.

View of the world,

world of the living…

living and the dead.

Dead and gone

gone far away,

away and left me nothing.

The Crowd

by Noura M.MouSsa

Sitting in what should be a state of joy,
A celebration and everybody’s content,
But my heart is stuck in a funeral,
To be Pleased and happy I couldn’t pretend.

I’m not like anyone I don’t belong with any crowd,
My face speaks, my eyes screams,
But no one could hear me cause the music is very loud,
And being heard was one of my far-off dreams.
