The tree-monster’s tail
stuck out of the ground
and though it was still
I made little sound
For there was no telling
and never a clue
what it would decide
and choose when to do

Snow n me

It wasn’t very nice
in my field this week you know
Cos my paws felt very cold
in some white stuff they call snow

I had a double layer
(my red jumper and a coat)
but my paws still feel the cold
(I’m just saying, make a note)

Goative Greetings

Goat jumped up the fence at me
At Tulley’s Farm today
Bleated out a greeting
Polite, as if to say
‘Good day to you, I’m very pleased
‘You took the time to come
‘And say hello to me today
‘It’s really rather fun’

Squirrel II

I met a little squirrel
in St James’ park today
He stopped and looked straight up at me
I think, as if to say
That if I were to be so kind
A little titbit please
‘For I’m find it quite hard
to find my nuts amongst the leaves’

Goosey Gander

I met a goose this morning
in the early morning chill
waiting by the bench with hope
his tummy for to fill

Caterpillar

A caterpillar came a-crawling
through my garden yesterday
So I captured him on video
as he went upon his way
He’ll turn into a Hawk Moth
I am reliably informed
but as they’re simply massive
I’m glad I’ve been forewarned

Squirrel

I was minding my own business
walking through the park
In very early morning
having risen with the lark
Seems I was not the only one
up at that time of day
As there were many squirrels
passing by me on the way

Let’s go Higher

I lift my wings.

I spread them wide.

From mountain peaks I reach the sky…

Just Fly

A new home

His family had lived
in the same place for years
Safe from harm’s way
with no worries or fears
Foraging for food
in the gardens around
Then up to the homestead
up high above ground

The penguin dichotomy

 

Like little old men
they totter about
wobbling unsteady
as if they have gout
They fall over a lot
on their short stubby legs
and are really unsteady
on those little pegs

The shy one

At the bottom of the garden
is a pond where lives a toad
But he won’t come out and say hello
However much I goad

Nuts

Squirrels at play in the sunshine
Chasing around and around
One eating nuts in the branches
Two playing games on the ground

Last night in quiet West Worthing
Whilst I was walking home
I met a fox called Roland
On a wander and a roam
