When you walked through that door
slammed shut and

and as I walk towards my home

“People cry not because they are weak, but because they have stayed strong for too long”
Yes, I am living the night
For the world outside

Maybe we were looking for a distraction
But emotions got involved and blossomed
Hard to deny that there was an attraction.
I dreamed.

I knew where I was bound.
You said your aim
Was quite the same,
And pretty soon I found

And your pretty face
Ever contemplating within
Tired of thinking what could have been

That’s intoxicating my blood
And I ask for more
But you don’t want me anymore

Avoiding the thought of you coming back
I’ve been drafted in your void
I feel shafted waking up on your shore once again

Just thought you should know
Even though you broke my bones

about the harmlessness
of inhaling bad days,
because the frost
is what kept you

Someone should murder you
with marionette lullabies,
cutting your eardrums
with copper fingers.
ii.
The ocean
seemed a little too violent,
but you were always
aching and empty.
Sometimes,
rowboats and oars
