APPLE
I bit into the apple
A burst of spring rain
and an explosion of blossoms
filled my mouth
I tasted the footprints of honeybees
long summer days
and the brightness of the autumn sun.

i can still hear the crickets chirping and frogs throaty rumbles,
but something in the cool stillness of the air tonight
gives weight to the anticipation of tomorrow-
