THE LOVER OF THE LIGHT - ON THE BLUFF 60 PERCENT

She stands high upon the bluff

a silhouette of one

lonely on the shore

It’s what she’s always done

She is a lonely beacon

that beckons all to come

unnoticed by the multitudes

but cared about by some

Angel II

by Jem Croucher
An angel perched close by our side
in the branches of a tree
as there we sat beside the lake
with flapjacks and cup of tea
He tweeted sweet a little song
reminding us in case
we needed that, though it was clear
by his exuded grace
He stayed there just a little while
before fluttering away
an angel on his angel rounds
on this fine winter's day

Hazel Heart

by Venkat

Dedicated to angelic Mae Riley

in the hollows of time
drip memories, icy bold
stories in silver faith
stories in molten sand

where owls hold vigil
angel of love’s feather
a light, only moons know
of this hazel heart’s brow

Recognizing Reality

Poetry Challenge: Valentines Poem

If I should see an angel on a dish
About the size of any mid-sized fish,
I hope I’d be inclined to hesitate
Before I eat what’s on that dinner plate.

Alf the angels’ teaboy

by Jem Croucher

Poetry Challenge: Christmas poem

Version 2

Alf the angels’ teaboy
took pride in what he did
He always warmed the teapot
never once left off the lid
He used just the right amount of milk
in the cup first, such was his ilk
and mopped up every drop he spilt
This was his lot in life

A quiet moment

by Jem Croucher

20160905_163426

I’m at the Angel Islington
in the heart of London town
Waiting by the tunnel
for traffic to come down
There are watercraft here waiting
close to where I am
Engines chugging in a queue
A canal boat traffic jam

An Angel

by K. T. Dibert

Some say,

An angel was sitting in the passenger seat;

Sometimes, I believe it, too.

Some say,

The good only goes for so long;

The well will dry up soon.

Whether it rains or shines,

Someone is on my side:

Fallen Angel

by Kerrie Ann Salsac

Once upon a time,
a long, long time ago,
I reigned up on high,
I ruled the goddamn show.

But now here I lay
broken far down below,
a shadow since I
lost my heavenly glow.

I am no sinner,
do not think me wicked.
I am no devil
whose conscience is twisted.

Peace

by Martin Shone

A smile is the oil that runs through our souls
a butterfly splendour

Imagine, if you will,
imagine if words could heal
just by reading them,
wouldn’t that be wonderful

Quite impossible though,
yet when we read something funny
doesn’t that make us feel a little bit
better?

Isn’t laughter
the best medicine?

So why not a poem?

A smile is the oil that runs through our souls
a bird gracious

If you could read a poem
and know that
come the end
your pain, or some of it perhaps
will have gone away
wouldn’t that be good!
